It’s now been just over 3 years since we arrived here at our new home in France and I’m not sure if we could have ever imagined the task ahead. It’s been incredibly hard work, sometimes cruelly challenging but at the same time a great deal of fun putting into action our ideas. Our original 12 page Action Plan is now down to two; we are almost at the bottom of that never ending list .
We have tried to put together a holiday location, where guests arrive and think, ‘wow, it really is time to escape & relax’. We genuinely think we have now achieved this. Our reviews have been humbly rewarding and appreciated and help us to feel we have got something right . Thank you to all our past guests, some who have now become friends and even neighbours, for helping us achieve this and taking the time to leave feedback, so we can continue to improve.
As usual, we have been preparing for the new season, working in the gardens and completing the annual tasks of deep cleaning cottages, pruning apple trees, vines and renovating various areas around the site. We have sown a new small meadow in the woodland, cut back some new paths and opened up another clearing, with a small bog garden for our wild life. Enchantingly, a number of new fairy doors have appeared along the way . Some lovely new areas just to sit and enjoy the seasonal sights, sounds and woody scents of our little woodland.
Our accommodation is proving perfect for groups and especially large family holidays and I love to see them enjoy the grounds and cottages we have put so much love and hard work into.
We are now fully booked for July and August, which is fantastic, and we are looking forward to meeting our new families.
We have some availability for the end of June, a few dates in September and October and through to December.
So if you are looking for a little break away or know someone who is interested please share our details and get in touch…
Here are a few photos showing some of the new projects and busy spring chores we have been working on…
