Even in January Gites Rue Du Chateau is a beautiful, tranquil and calming place to be … and it always surprises me when I look back on the month and see what we have achieved…
Celebrating the New Year with friends, and Strutty at the helm, at the Auberge de Noyer.
We finally planted a Willow tree to mark the visit of the Royal Marines from the Cockleshell 22 group (now CS22 Veteran Expedition), who stayed with us when they completed their exhibition to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Operation Frankton.
Ian has been making homes for our two resident Squirrels
We’ve seen some gentle snowfall and crisp bright mornings and enjoyed evenings in front of the fire continued to steadily work through our winter jobs and had a couple of days out.
We’ve finished the month with sure signs of spring around the corner, with beautiful dawn choruses, catkins/lambs tails showing on the trees, the Snowdrops are out and the Daffodils are peeking through. The days are definitely getting longer, brighter and warmer.
…. and the Six Nations start on Friday. Strutty’s happy and I have the Irish T-shirt, because I can now.
As our bookings come in and we start to prepare for another season, we wish you all the very best for a happy and healthy 2024!
